Apply these hand-made monochrome ink textures to an illustration, design, or photo to enhance an edgy appearance or make something look worn.

I love adding tons of textures to the illustrations and designs I make as a creative director at Adobe and in my personal work. Texture adds a bit of dirt or edginess; sometimes I use it to make something look worn or vintage, and sometimes I use texture as an element on its own. And textures can serve the same purpose for photos, too.

Using real ink, I created a pack of 11 textures that you can open and apply in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Fresco, and many other image-editing and illustration apps. Each of the 11 JPEGs is high quality and copyright-free, and you can use them in any project, personal or commercial. All Adobe asks is that you don't re-distribute them.

This illustration is an example of how I used textures that I captured in the real world with Adobe Capture and took into the vector world. That was more than four years ago, so be sure to check Capture's newer features—it's grown a lot.
