Illustration • Free Resources Free ‘Painted Marble’ Textures

Use these textures in Illustrator or Photoshop.

Created in Adobe Photoshop, these painted marble textures can be used in design and illustration projects. You can use them as background images, or you can isolate different parts of the image using clipping masks in Photoshop or Illustrator.

Here’s an example of how to apply these textures in Photoshop:

First, I used the Pen tool and drew each part of the sneaker on separate layers.

Then I placed my texture image on top of the shape layer to which I wanted to add a texture. I created a clipping mask (Layer > Create Clipping Mask). To finish, I used command-T (or control-T on a Windows PC), I to adjust the position and the size of the texture image inside the clipping mask.

If you’d like to create your own textures, check this tutorial where I show how to paint a texture, using Kyle Webster’s brushes and the Liquify filter in Photoshop.
